Rivercrest got things started in the first inning when Morris drew a walk, scoring one run. Austin Elrod got the start for the Colts. Elrod lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero. Jacob Atchley, Kilburn, Cagle, and Elrod each collected one hit to lead the Colts. Morris led with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.

Laynee Gardner, Molli Austin, Karlee Cullom, Carleigh Williams, and Mary Jo Booker all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Rivercrest got things started in the first inning when Williams singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. They pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. The Lady Colts tallied nine runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower was led by Gardner, Austin, Cullom, Williams, and Booker, who all drove in runs. Gardner earned the victory on the rubber. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. The Lady Colts hit one home run on the day. Booker had a four bagger in the third inning. Rivercrest racked up 15 hits. Williams, Chesnee Chandler, Taylor Routledge, Austin, and Gardner each collected multiple hits for Rivercrest Lady Colts Varsity. Chandler and Williams all had three hits.

The Colts defeated Corning 6-0 on Monday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jaxon Kilburn struck out #13 to finish off the game. Rivecrest got on the board in the second inning. Asthon Cagle drew a walk, scoring one run. They notched three runs in the fourth inning. Rivecrest batters contributing to the big inning included Austin Elrod and Kevin Morris, all knocking in runs in the inning. Conner Vaughn led things off on the pitcher's mound for Rivecrest. The southpaw allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. The Colts tallied eight hits in the game. Jacob Atchley and Cagle all had multiple hits. Cagle and Atchley each collected two hits to lead Rivecrest. Morris led with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.

Our EAST students had a great time at EAST Conference in Hot Springs this week. They made us proud with their booth set up and presentations. The students came away with new ways to help move our EAST program forward, and also a Judge's Choice Award for Booth Setup and Presentation! Color guard tryouts for the 2023-2024 season will begin with a clinic on Monday March 27th from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm in the band room and will be after school on the following Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:45pm to 6:00pm. Tryouts will begin at 4:00 on Friday and will go until everyone has been through. Anyone wanting to try out will need to bring a completed packet to Monday's clinic or can pick one up Monday and have it turned in before staying after school Tuesday. Anyone with questions or if you need a packet, see Mrs. Benson in room 189 in the highschool.

Rivercrest Lady Colts managed through a push by Manilla in the fifth inning and won 19-8 on Thursday. Bats blistered as they collected 18 hits and Manilla Lady Lions tallied eight in the high-scoring game. The Lady Colts got things started in the first inning with an error scoring two runs. Then, notched nine runs in the sixth inning. Chesnee Chandler, Mary Jo Booker, Raven Powell, Taylor Routledge, Carleigh Williams, and Chandler all drove in runs in the frame. Laynee Gardner earned the victory on the rubber. The righthander surrendered two runs on two hits over one inning, striking out one. Dakota Rinderer and Maggie Hensley entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Rivercrest socked one home run on the day. Routledge went deep in the fifth inning. The Lady Colts tallied 18 hits. Williams, Routledge, Molli Austin, Powell, Booker, Addison Woodward, and Chandler each managed multiple hits. Austin, Routledge, and Williams each managed three hits to lead Rivercrest.

Lady Colts Softball got out to a four-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over Gosnell. The Lady Colts knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning. Annabelle Chandler hit a solo homer. They pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Chesnee Chandler singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, Mary Jo Booker singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Laynee Gardner was the winning pitcher for Rivercrest. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out one and walking zero. The Lady Colts smacked one home run on the day. Chandler had a dinger in the second inning. Rivercrest tallied ten hits in the game. Raven Powell, Karlee Cullom, and Booker each collected multiple hits for Rivercrest Lady Colts Varsity. Booker, Cullom, and Powell each managed two hits.
