Big win on Senior Night! The win tonight gave the Lady Colts the number 1 seed in conference! Laynee Gardner didn't allow a single run against Harrisburg, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Lady Colts to a 11-0 victory on Tuesday. Rivercrest secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Colts' big bats in the inning were led by an error on a ball put in play by Mary Jo Booker and Carleigh Williams, a triple by Molli Austin, a single by Raven Powell, and a double by Booker. They notched ten runs in the fifth inning - the offense in the inning came from an error on a ball put in play by Booker and Williams, a triple by Austin, a single by Powell, and a double by Booker. Gardner earned the victory on the rubber. The righty lasted five innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out eight and walking one. Chesnee Chandler, Annabelle Chandler, Addison Woodward, Austin, Taylor Routledge, Booker, Williams, Dakota Rinderer, and Powell each collected one hit to lead Rivercrest.

Rivecrest defeated Manila 11-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ian McClain induced a fly out from #2 to finish off the game. The Colts secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. McClain, Joe Louis Ralph, Jacob Atchley, Keiron Morris, and Austin Elrod each drove in runs during the inning. Conner Vaughn was on the hill for Rivecrest. Vaughn allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out four. The Colts tallied one home run on the day. Kevin Morris went yard in the fourth inning. The Colts racked up nine hits. Morris and Jaxon Kilburn each collected multiple hits. Morris led with three hits in three at bats.

Dakota Rinderer had all the right stuff on Monday for the Lady Colts, allowing zero runs and besting Jonesboro Hurricane Varsity by a score of 14-0 Rivercrest was boosted by Jessie Kroeger who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Kroeger doubled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the third, and singled in the fifth. In the first inning, the Lady Colts got their offense started when an error scored one run. The Lady Colts scored eight runs in the third inning. Rivercrest put the pressure on, lead by doubles by Chesnee Chandler, Mary Jo Booker, and Kroeger and a home run by Annabelle Chandler. Rinderer got the win for the Lady Colts. The pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking zero. Rivercrest launched one home run on the day. Chandler went deep in the third inning. The Lady Colts Varsity totaled 15 hits. Kroeger, Maggie Hensley, Gracie Rinderer, and Booker all had multiple hits. Kroeger went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits. Rivercrest didn't commit a single error in the field. Hensley had the most chances in the field with five.

Rivercrest Lady Colts knocked in six runs in the third on its way to a 10-3 victory over Jonesboro Hurricane Varsity on Monday. The offense in the inning was led by Carleigh Williams, Raven Powell, Molli Austin, and Karlee Cullom, who each had RBIs in the inning. Rivercrest Lady Colts Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Austin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Lady Colts notched six runs in the third inning. The big inning was driven by singles by Powell, Austin, and Cullom and a groundout by Williams. Laynee Gardner was the winning pitcher for Rivercrest. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out two. Maggie Hensley threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. The Lady Colts racked up 13 hits. Austin, Annabelle Chandler, Chesnee Chandler, and Addison Woodward each had multiple hits. Woodward, Chandler, Chandler, and Austin each collected two hits to lead Rivercrest.

Rivecrest Colts snatched the lead late in the game in a 14-13 victory over Corning on Monday. The game was tied at six with Corning batting in the top of the sixth when #8 singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. The Colts got on the board in the second inning. Ashtin Cagle drove in one when Cagle singled. Rivecrest knotted the game up at 13 in the bottom of the seventh inning. They scored two runs when Jaxon Kilburn doubled. Austin Elrod got the start for Rivecrest. The righthander surrendered four runs on one hit over three innings, striking out eight. The Colts launched one home run on the day. Kevin Morris had a dinger in the sixth inning. Rivecrest totaled 20 hits. Morris, Kilburn, Keiron Morris, Elrod, Ian McClain, and Conner Vaughn all managed multiple hits. Kilburn and Morris each collected four hits to lead the Colts.

RHS juniors, Eli Ezekiel and Mercuriah Vance along with Mrs. Carin McClung, traveled to Little Rock this past week. They presented great discussion points on homelessness to Senator John Boozman. They put a lot of thought and effort into their presentations, and Sen. Boozman was so interested in what they had to say, asking them questions and taking notes on what they presented. They also took a moment to explore the building Sen. Boozman's office was in. They made friends with the receptionist of KARK news station. She later reached out, and had arranged with AR Style host Nichole Niemann TV for them to sit in on a filming of the shows latest episode.

Even though the Colts gave up three runs in the sixth inning, they still defeated Piggott 10-3 on Friday. Rivecrest got things started in the first inning when Conner Vaughn singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Vaughn got the start. The lefty surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out six and walking zero. Rivecrest tallied eight hits. Vaughn, Austin Elrod, and Ian McClain all had multiple hits. Vaughn went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Colts in hits. Rivecrest tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Elrod led the way with three.

Rivercrest Lady Colts defeated Piggott 11-5 on Thursday thanks to a timely seven runs in a big second inning. The Lady Colts put the pressure on, lead by singles by Karlee Cullom, Carleigh Williams, Mary Jo Booker, and Raven Powell and an error on a ball put in play by Annabelle Chandler. Rivercrest pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second Cullom singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Williams singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs, Booker singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run and Powell singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Katelyn Ostendorf led things off in the pitcher's circle for Rivercrest. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing six hits and five runs. The Lady Colts totaled 12 hits in the game. Williams, Cullom, and Booker all collected multiple hits for Rivercrest Lady Colts Varsity. Booker, Cullom, and Williams each collected two hits to lead.

Arkansas Northeastern College will host Mini MASH (Medical Applications of Science for Health) Camp June 19-23. MASH camp is a summer enrichment program that allows high school students to enhance their knowledge of the healthcare field. If interested, contact Sara Creecy, Career Coach.

ACT Aspire testing will begin next week on Tuesday, April 18 and continue through Friday for 7th-10th graders. High school students should bring their Chromebooks charged and ready for testing. Junior High students will use the Chromebooks provided in class. Attendance is important each day of testing!

7-12 students who want to eat breakfast, should report directly to the cafeteria upon arrival at school. Breakfast begins at 7:20. Students who are not eating breakfast should go directly to their first period class. ALL students should be in class by the 7:45 bell.

Rivercrest FBLA Middle School competed in state competition on April 3 in Little Rock. Gabrielle Harris and Bryleigh McClain made it to the second round in multimedia and website design. Abigail Castling, Kaylee Wood and Whitleigh Luff also made it to the second round in the video game design challenge. Tracey Bell, FBLA sponsor, would like to thank all the students for their dedication.
